In this warm and deeply human episode, Elena Armijo sits down with certified coach, writer, and Late to the Party host Sophie Ragir for a conversation about creativity, courage, and the stories that convince us we are somehow behind. Sophie brings honesty and humor to the experience of building something new while still wrestling with perfectionism, fear, and the desire to have it all figured out first.

Elena begins with a coaching reflection on moving at the speed of scared rather than waiting for readiness. Growth rarely begins once fear disappears. It happens through the repetitions that gradually teach us we can move forward while fear is still present.
Sophie’s own journey brings this idea to life. “Late to the Party” began with a familiar thought: maybe she had waited too long to start. Rather than letting that belief close the door, she became curious about how much of life we miss when we assume our timing is wrong. Creating the podcast has become a practice in being seen while still learning, experimenting publicly, and allowing the work to evolve in real time.
Sophie also reflects on the difference between self-improvement and self-acceptance. Sometimes growth is less about becoming someone new and more about returning to parts of ourselves we learned to leave behind. That same honesty shapes the way Sophie thinks about self-trust. There is freedom in letting go of the need to have every answer, say everything perfectly, or wait until fear disappears. The work is in continuing to show up, tell the truth, make mistakes, repair when needed, and keep moving toward the life she wants to create.
This episode is a gentle reminder that there is no perfect timeline for becoming who you are meant to be. Sometimes the next chapter begins simply by trusting yourself enough to start before you feel ready.
